Green Bay Recycles Dredged Material

Section 17 of the 1996 Water Resources Development Act provides for the Corps of Engineers to use private or public landfills for disposal of sediment and the Corps pays a tipping fee to the owner of the landfill. Brown County Wisconsin was one of the first to take advantage of this program providing a placement area for maintenance material from the Green Bay navigation channel.
