WEDA Accepting Abstracts for the Dredging Summit & Expo

The Western Dredging Association (WEDA) has announced its first call for abstracts for the annual Dredging Summit & Expo ’20. The conference will take place at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in downtown Houston from June 9 to 12, 2020. WEDA’s technical sessions at the Dredging Summit and Expo are an opportunity to discuss the science and practice of dredging, navigation and marine engineering. Interested authors and presenters should submit abstracts online at www.WEDA2020.exordo.com.

The deadline to submit abstracts is January 17, 2020.

The theme for this year’s conference is “Dredging: The Impacts of Climate Change.” The plenary sessions are not meant to provide a forum for promoting commercialized information. Abstracts presenting both practical applications, as well as applied research, are encouraged.

Topics for this year’s conference include: improving dredging safety; climate change impacts; innovative equipment and techniques; sea level rise planning; dredging research and education; shoreline protection and beach nourishment; contracting, budgeting and cost estimating; beneficial reuse of dredged material, dredging for flood control; dredging for restoration; navigation channel design; port deepening program updates; surveying and mapping; emerging environmental regulations; sediment management; and engineering with nature.
