Upcoming Industry Events Cover Software Training, Section 408, WG 176 and Dredging Engineering

  • Swathe Services is running a five-day and a one-day HYPACK training course. The one-day course will be held September 30 at the Kendleshire Golf Club in Bristol, United Kingdom. The course will cover the latest features of HYPACK software. The five-day HYPACK/HYSWEEP Multi-Beam Echo Sounder (MBES) training course for hydrographic surveyors, will run from September 23 to 27 at the Swathe Services office in Cornwall, United Kingdom. This course will combine classroom and water-based training in installation, calibration, data acquisition and post-processing of hydrographic survey data.   • The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Chicago District is presenting an informational webinar on October 15 at 10:00 a.m. EST entitled, “Working with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on Section 408 Projects.” Presenters will discuss how the Corps Great Lakes districts are implementing the Section 408 policy and provide background on both the Corps review processes and how the Corps is working to increase efficiency in permitting.   • Texas A&M University in College Station is hosting the 49th Dredging Engineering Short Course from January 6 to 10. Administered by the Center for Dredging Studies, Department of Ocean Engineering, the course includes lectures, laboratories and a panel.
