Royal IHC Signs Contract for Second TSHD

Royal IHC has signed a contract with National Marine Dredging Company (NMDC, based in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.) to build another trailing suction hopper dredge. The new vessel will join the 6,000 cubic meters (7,847 cubic yards) hopper dredge ARZANA, which was delivered by IHC in 2018. In addition, IHC will deliver the first hopper dredge simulator to the Middle East, further allowing NMDC to develop and strengthen its in-house dredging capabilities.

The new dredge features an enlarged hopper capacity of 8,000 cubic meters (10,463 cubic yards) and a larger dredging depth of 45 meters (148 feet). The design of the new dredge is a result of close cooperation between IHC and NMDC, leading to a tailor-made solution that combines shallow draft and a large dredging depth with high maneuverability, and specifically designed for operation in high temperatures.
