HYPACK Announces New Director of Operations

HYPACK has announced Gerd Glang will be the new director of operations for the company. In his new role, Glang will be responsible for leading the operational component of HYPACK through a period of accelerated growth. He will have oversight and accountability for all aspects of the operations group that includes project management, sales, customer support and software development.

Glang is a former National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Corps rear admiral who served as the director of the NOAA Office of Coast Survey. He also served concurrently as the U.S. National Hydrographer and as one of the commissioners of the Mississippi River Commission. He was appointed by Acting Secretary of Commerce Rebecca Blank on August 13, 2012, after nomination by President Obama and confirmation by the U.S. Senate. He retired from NOAA Corps in August 2016 after more than 32 years of service.

Glang’s most recent position was president of IIC Technologies where he led strategy, business development, daily operations and the finance team of the U.S.-Canada subsidiary.
