Dam Inspections in Australia Use Coda Octopus Echoscope®

The Coda Octopus Echoscope® was used to conduct a subsea structural assessment of two high priority river dams in Australia. The Echoscope captured structural, sedimentary and depth data in high resolution without post-processing. The inspection team at the dams conducted a fast, accurate inspection through the real-time images.

Using the Echoscope XD live feed of subsea terrain, the operator has the ability to stop and take live measurements from within the submerged environment.

The sonar has a 90-degree by 40-degree horizontal or vertical coverage that reduces inspection time. The multi frequency capability captures a large amount of data at a lower frequency, then switches to a higher frequency to capture higher resolution data. The sonar has a repeatable hydrographic pole, F185 GNSS aided inertial attitude and positioning system and Quick Release Integrated Single Axis Rotator system.
