High School Students Visit Harbor Facility and Tour Dredge Jadwin

Students from the Architecture, Construction, Mechatronics and Engineering Academy at Vicksburg High School in Mississippi, visited the Vicksburg District harbor facility and toured the dredge Jadwin. The group of fourteen learned about career opportunities with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and saw firsthand what such work would look like. They also learned what educational requirements would be required for specific careers. Hosts introduced them to jobs such as deckhand, 2nd mate, mechanical engineer and pilot. The Vicksburg District supports local and surrounding educational institutions to both help in the success of the educational system and to build a future workforce.
