Port of Everett Partners for Everett Harbor and Snohomish River Dredging

Portable Hydraulic Dredging LLC of Anchorage Alaska was awarded a $1.2 million contract by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Seattle District for the maintenance dredging of the lower channel of Everett Harbor and Snohomish River.

Work which began October 31 will remove approximately 90000 cubic yards of material and place it on the west shore of Jetty’s Island a man-made island that is composed of dredged sediment from the Snohomish River. The island is owned by the Port of Everett which is sponsoring the dredging project.

Portable Hydraulic Dredging is using its 80-foot long cutterhead suction dredge Renegade for the project. The dredge can work to depths of 32-feet with a 36-inch cutterhead. The project should be completed by mid-January.
