DAVID EVANS AND ASSOCIATES CELEBRATES 40 YEARS

In 1976 the professional services consulting firm of David Evans and Associates Inc. (DEA) opened its doors in Portland Oregon and in 2016 the company is celebrating its 40th anniversary.

Since its start as a two-person civil engineering firm serving land developers in the Portland Metropolitan area the firm has diversified its services and grown to more than 1000 people in eight states and 23 offices. The firm has served more than 9000 clients and generated more than $2.5 billion in revenue during its 40-year history.

The firm’s projects have received awards from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) at the state and national levels as well as the National Association of Environmental Planners Federal Highway Administration and Federal Transit Administration and numerous civic and architecture/engineering/construction industry organizations.

With its 82-foot research vessel The Blake operating out of Gulfport Mississippi DEA is performing charting surveys of Gulfport Channel and Chandeleur Sound.

DEA’s work is evident throughout the Port-land metropolitan area where the company was founded. Signature projects include work on the Oregon Convention Center a major segment of TriMet’s Portland-to-Milwaukie LRT program and program management of the Sellwood Bridge design and construction. DEA also has worked on important projects across the county in New York City Arizona California Colorado and Washington.

In California DEA’s award-winning projects include Taylor Yard in Los Angeles the Space Shuttle Endeavour move through Los Angeles and Lasselle Sports Park in Moreno Valley.

Highlights of the firm’s work in Colorado include services for the final design of FasTracks West Rail Line Corridor LRT Extension Final Design in Denver the Arapahoe Corridor Study and Arapahoe/Parker Interchange Final Design in Arapahoe County.

In Washington State DEA provided services for Tucannon River Wind Farm in Columbia County which was the first energy project in North America to receive the Envision® Gold Award for Sustainable Infrastructure.

For more than 40 years DEA has provided clients with unique and innovative design services for transportation water land environmental energy and marine infrastructure systems. The firm’s staff includes engineers surveyors hydrographers planners landscape architects and natural resources scientists.
