Riverside Marine Refurbishes Dredge for Australian Market

Brisbane-based Riverside Marine purchased an IHC-built 2000-cubic-meter dredge as it looks to expand in the Australian dredging market. The dredge will arrive in October after it undergoes modifications in Singapore. Riverside Marine General Manager Angus Campbell said the company was targeting harbor and port maintenance contracts around Australia.

Resolute is a trailing suction hopper dredge with bottom dumping doors and shore-discharge assemblies so it can discharge sediment on-shore and at sea. It has a dredging depth of 30 meters.

“The modifications underway include an ADC devised mechanism to reduce dredge material escaping with overflow meaning less turbidity and a better environmental outcome” Campbell said.

Resolute joins the 2000-cubic-meter dredge John Oxley 2 which has been part of Riverside Marine’s industrial sands company since 1999.
