The Ecole des Mines de Douai and Cd2e will present the International Symposium on Sediment Management on July 9 through 11 in Lille France.

The aim of the symposium is to assemble academics students and professionals working on contaminated and clean sediment management to discuss the state-of-the-art with particular emphasis on beneficial use in different fields.

The symposium will review recent advances on sediment-management-related research and focus on engineering aspects providing an opportunity for experts and engineers from all over the world to meet and share their experience.

Papers will be published in a special issue of the International Journal of Environmental Technology

An international scientific committee is chaired by N.E. Abriak. Dr. Donald Hayes professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Louisiana is a member of the scientific committee.

Topics will include management of dredging operations and storage of sediments; treatment of contaminated sediments; transport of contaminants; ecotoxicological approaches and developments of bio-tests; analyses and water treatments; beneficial uses of dredged marine and river sediments in civil engineering; beneficial uses in other fields
