George A. Waldeck II died on Saturday November 12 in his home in Jacksonville Florida. He was 65.

Mr. Waldeck was the owner of Hofer Valve Company and a descendant of four generations of dredgers. He began working for Merritt Dredging Company when he was 16 years old and through the years worked for the Corps of Engineers for 10 years Sterling Enterprrses ROIC and as owner of Southland Dredging which he sold in 1991.

George has left Hofer Valve to the next generation of Waldeck sons and Darren C. Waldeck will assume operation of Hofer Valve in honor of his father.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years Kathryn M. Waldeck two sons: Robert C. Waldeck and Darren C. Waldeck of Jacksonville Florida a daughter Kathryn Lynn Prust of Zionsville Indiana; a brother Joseph H. Waldeck; a sister Judy Horychuch; and seven grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday November 16 2005 at the Chapel of the Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home 940 Cesery Blvd. Jacksonville Florida with Monsignor Mort Danaher officiating. Following the service the family will receive friends at the home of George and Kay Waldeck.
