The WEDA (Western Dredging Association) Midwest Chapter meeting has been changed to November 27 through 29 in Detroit Michigan. It was originally scheduled for October 4 and 5.
James Aidala chapter president announced that because the September 11 attacks on the United States will have an effect on the dredging industry the meeting will be postponed in order to assemble reports and information regarding these incidents that will inform dredging contractors and others of these effects.
Aidala said “The uncertainties that exist in the world today give this meeting more importance. I urge you all to attempt to attend. This meeting will provide us an opportunity to hear and express how recent developments may impact the dredging industry. Corps personnel are scheduled to present their respective dredging programs for the coming year at this meeting. Other papers and presentations are still being accepted. Also any suggestions for agenda items are welcome. Further details of the meeting will be posted on the WEDA internet site: www.wesda.org. The meeting will be held in the Crown Plaza – Ponchartrain in Detroit. It will begin on Tuesday November 27 with a reception at 6:30 p.m. Technical sessions will be held all day on Wednesday starting at 8 a.m. with a luncheon from noon to 1 p.m. A breakfast and chapter meeting will take place on Thursday from 8:30 to 11 a.m.
