Organizers for the Inland Water Transport and Dredging (IWTD) Conference have released the technical program. To be held in Bangkok Thailand November 13 through 16 the conference and exhibition focuses on major dredging projects planned and in the works in the Far East. Issues such as sustainable development of inland water transport in the 21st century and government support for inland water transport will also be addressed by experts in their fields such as Peter Hamburger of the IADC and Robin Carruthers principal transport economist for the World Bank.
Dredging projects and equipment will be discussed by among others Joachim Pflug of LMG; Kees de Groot of HAM and Liu Huai Yuan of the China Harbor Engineering Company. Some topics are The Yangtze Estuary Deepwater Channel Regulation Project; the Gorai dredging and its impact on the economy of Bangladesh and a massive dredging project now in progress to build a Disney theme park in Penny’s Bay Hong Kong..
