International Dredging Review

International Dredging Review

The Belgian dredging group Jan de Nul has ordered a 33000 cubic-meter hopper dredge from a consortium of Krupp Fordertechnik GmbH and Thyssen Nordseewerke GmbH. This is 40 percent larger than the next largest hopper dredge.

The order is worth more than US$120 million and the dredge will be delivered in January 2000. It will guarantee capacity utilization of design and production facilities for both consortium partners until the year 2000.

Jan de Nul will use the dredge in international land reclamation projects.
