International Dredging Review

About IDR

International Dredging Review is a trade journal for the worldwide dredging industry that covers issues, events, people, equipment, companies, conferences and other news relevant to the industry. The first issue appeared in October, 1981, and the magazine has appeared regularly since then. The audience includes everyone involved in dredging, from company executives to dredge crew members, government entities, peripheral companies such as hydrographic surveyors, engineering firms and environmental engineers, port authorities, inland waterways and marinas, and all others with an interest in the dredging industry.

Mission statement: To provide accurate, ethical reporting and up-to-date information to the worldwide dredging industry.

The print magazine appears six times a year and is financed by advertising and subscription fees. The annual subscription includes a copy of the comprehensive Annual Directory of Dredge Owners and Operators/Dredging Industry Buyer's Guide.

This web site was established in 1999 to provide a more immediate source of information than could be provided by the printed edition.

International Dredging Review was founded and is owned by Judith Powers, a 1967 graduate of The University of Texas at Austin College of Communication, with a bachelors degree in Journalism, focus on magazine writing and editing.

Powers operated as a sole proprietorship until January 1, 2004, when she incorporated the business as Little Horse Enterprises, Inc., doing business as (dba) International Dredging Review and Dredging Contract News.
