DMC Brings Long Term Experience To Dredge Building

Don R. King founded Dredge & Marine Corporation (DMC) in 1985, and has been operating steadily building and selling dredges and dredge equipment in the Nashville area since then.

He has been in the dredge business since 1960, and through the years headed American Marine and Machinery Company (AMMCO) and Dixie Dredge Corporation. He was the founder of DredgeMasters International (DMI) and American Mechanical Dredge (AMD).

DMC manufactures a line of new cutterhead suction dredges, and also remanufactures used dredges of all types for re-sale.

Other products include dredge components and support equipment, including boosters, cutterheads and drives, dredge tender boats, dredge pumps, pump replacement parts, pipeline and accessories (steel and polyethylene) and ball joints.

The company employs 18 to 20 people in their main office in Mt. Juliet, and at the workshop in Millersville, Tennessee.

Other officers are Vice President Morris Henry, with 35 years in the dredging business; vice president Rick King with 20 years; comptroller and office manager Vivian White, who has been in the dredging business for 30 years; James Morris, production manager, with 35 years; and Bobby Prince, parts manager, with 40 years in the business.
In the past 12 months, the company has had a brisk business in new and used dredges, rebuilt dredges, both as builders and brokers, and dredge components and support equipment including boosters, cutter systems, work boats, ball joints and pipeline.

DMC had a partnership with Damen Dredging of the Netherlands for a number of years. This agreement was amicably ended.
