BARNSTABLE COUNTY ORDERS DREDGE FROM ELLICOTT

Barnstable County on Cape Cod Massachusetts announced on September 21 it has ordered a second dredge from Ellicott Dredge. The new dredge will cost $1.89 million and will take nine months to build. It will be trucked in sections to new Bedford and assembled there.

The funds come from a special enterprise dredging fund that also supports operations of the county’s existing dredge the Codfish.

Limits on dredging schedules due to fishery restrictions have placed more demands on the Codfish’s time and required the second dredge according to Barnstable County Commissioner Lee Cakounes.
