Boskalis, Van Oord Win Bahrain Island Contract

. Royal Boskalis Westminster nv announced on December 21 that, in a 50/50 joint venture with Van Oord, it has won a major contract in Bahrain for the creation of ten islands (total area 690 hectares), including slope protection, beaches and navigation channels. The contract wil be executed over 24 months. The total contract value is approximately 150 million.

George A. Waldeck II died of cancer on Saturday, November 12 in his home in Jacksonville, Florida. He was 65. Mr. Waldeck was the owner of Hofer Valve & Supply Company, was descended from a dredging family, and worked in dredging his entire adult life.
