HYPACK 2003 Planned for Phoenix

Coastal Oceanographics will hold their HYPACK 2003 Users Conference in Phoenix, Arizona at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort and Spa, January 7 through 9, 2003. The Second Annual Humper Classic Golf tournament will be held on Monday, January 6 at the on-site golf course.

The conference offers HYPACK users a low-cost opportunity to train survey staff in all phases of the HYPACK MAX hydrographic survey software package, said Lourdes Ramos Evans, conference organizer.

Three days of classroom training cover survey preparation, geodesy, data collection, editing, sounding selection, plotting, volumes, sections, surface modeling and import/export to CAD.

Coastal Oceanographics personnel will teach the courses, which will show users how to get the most out of their HYPACK software, said Evans.

The 2002 conference was attended by approximately 400 people from 15 nations, and Evans expects equal attendance in 2003. There will be an exhibition of 30 booths in the ballroom adjacent to the conference rooms.

The Sheraton Wild Horse Pass has reserved 300 rooms at the U.S. Government per diem rate of $107 per night. This rate will be available until December 21 under the group code HYPACK.

Registration and exhibit forms are on the website www.coastalo.com/hy2003/index.htm, or call Evans at 860-349-3800. The Humper Golf Classic website is www.coastalo.com/hy2003/humper_open.htm.
