He was president and founder of Arnoldo Gallont SA de CV, headquartered in Monterrey, Mexico. “Arnoldo was a customer and a friend for 25 years. I had the highest regard for his dependability, reliability and honesty and will miss him,” said Don King, president of Damen Dredging USA, Inc.
Mr. Gallont was director of the Mexican contractor Grupo Protexa's dredging division for more than 20 years, and went into business for himself in the early 1990’s as a consultant. He participated in a variety of projects in Mexico in almost every port, as well as several foreign assignments in Peru, Colombia, and Panama. For several years in the 1980’s, Mr. Gallont served as president of the Mexico Chapter of the Western Dredging Association.
A native of El Salvador, he attended and graduated with an engineering degree from ITESM in Monterrey, Mexico. While attending college he met and married his wife Carmen and he lived the balance of his life in Monterrey.
Mr. Gallont was well known and respected for his years of service to the industry and will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Carmen, and six adult children.
His son Walter and daughter Monica have been working in the consulting firm, and are continuing to operate the company.
