Austin Joins LWT
Robert B. (Bob) Austin has been appointed general manager of Liquid Waste Technology (LWT), Somerset, Wisconsin.
Austin has spent the past three decades in senior management positions in the waste water and marine pollution control equipment business. Prior to his LWT appointment, he spent more than a decade as vice president and president of United Marine International, the manufacturer of the TrashCat™ marine trash skimmer and WeedCat™ aquatic weed harvester. UMI developed the marine trash skimmer, which has been used in many ports and harbors throughout the world, most recently to Hong Kong, Singapore, and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Prior to joining UMI, he spent many years as director of Marketing and Sales for Mud Cat™, then a division of National Car Rental and now a division of Ellicott International. Mud Cat™ pioneered the portable auger dredge for sludges and silts.
LWT has been manufacturing some of UMI’s products, and Austin’s involvement in LWT grew from this association.
Austin said he was looking forward to the challenge of growing LWT’s business, and was enthusiastic about its prospects because of its leading technology and strong market position. He noted that LWT’s automation technology was well-received internationally by waste water treatment plant (WWTP) operators and design engineers.
