NOTE NO. 1. Kilo Wharf Extension
This project will provide for a new 121.9- meter (400-foot) extension to the existing Kilo Wharf on the west and perform all necessary dredging within the harbor to enable the construction. The project will also provide for a 243.84-meter (800-foot) reinforced concrete crane girder and supports at the existing wharf and wharf extension in addition to upgrades to the existing wharf to provide seismic resistance as well as extensive other land-based construction.

NOTE NO. 2. Hurricane Katrina Damage Repair and Beach Replenishment
The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers Hurricane Protection Office New Orleans awarded a $12497052 contract to Bertucci Industrial Services Kenner Louisiana for rehabilitation of Hurricane Katrina damage Grand Isle and vicinity in Jefferson Parish Louisiana. The work consists the repair or rehabilitation of the levee and beach area from Station 8+90 to Station 386+00 including repair rehabilitation and replenishment of the beach and dune with sand including dredging from a government-furnished borrow pit. Work also includes reconstruction and repair of damaged pedestrian crossovers and emergency vehicle ramps rehabilitation and repair of storm protection measures as originally constructed on the east and west jetties rehabilitation of breakwaters to bring the structures back to the original design and replacement of several navigation lights in their existing locations.

NOTE NO. 3
Shore Protection Fernandina Beach
The project work consists of placing dredged material along 21380 feet – four miles – of beach south of the St. Mary’s Entrance Channel south jetty under four alternates. The project will place material between FDEP monuments R-13 and R-33. The solicitation allowed a choice of four alternate bids with amounts of dredged material varying from 768000 to 1725000 cubic yards of sand and varying berm width depending on the alternate chosen. The material for the project beach will come from the offshore South Channel Borrow Area approximately three miles from the center of the project area. Work also includes environmental restrictions turbidity monitoring and beach tilling.
Weeks Marine was awarded the contract for $14115500 Alternate D: 1725000 cubic yards of beach fill.

NOTE NO. 4
Lube Oil for Dredge McFarland
Contract award winner Performance Fluids of Desoto Texas delivered 5000 gallons of lube oil for the Dredge McFarland to the Gulfport Mississippi State Dock on May 8 parking on the pier alongside the ship and delivering the oil through 150 feet of hose.

NOTE NO. 5. Equipment for the Yaquina
The Philadelphia District awarded a contract to Pacific Power Products Kent Washington for five Tier II marine diesel engines five reduction gears two diesel generator sets box or keel coolers CRPP shafting and propellers and corresponding controls as replacement equipment for the Corps Dredge Yaquina. The acquisition was a negotiated best-value procurement using the Contracting By Negotiation process. Evaluation factors were: technical factors past performance and experience product and management and price factor and price reasonableness. The contract amount was $469535.
