Pacific Chapter to Meet In Waikiki

The WEDA Pacific Chapter is accepting paper abstracts for their fall conference, to be held Wednesday, October 24 through Friday, October 26 at the Waikiki Beach Marriott, Honolulu, Hawaii.

Papers on all aspects of dredging and disposal, navigation structures, environmental restoration, and related topics are welcome and may be sent to Bill Hussin at bhussin@mansonconstruction.com. There has been local interest expressed for presentations on dredging projects near coral reefs

The agenda will include the 2008 Federal Dredging Program presentation, technical papers, a field trip and annual chapter business meeting.

Hotel reservations booked prior to September 21 will have a special group rate of $189 per night, with a government rate of $149. Rates will be honored for three days before and three days after the conference.

The Waikiki Marriott is located across the street from Waikiki Beach next to the famous Diamond Head Crater, Waikiki Aquarium, Honolulu Zoo and within steps to the beach, shopping and dining.
