Contract Awards through April 10, 2007

Hawaiian Dredging Construction Co., Inc., Honolulu, Hawaii, is being awarded $6,958,310 for firm-fixed-price Task Order 0005 under a previously awarded indefinite-delivery/ indefinite-quantity multiple award construction contract (N62742-04-D-1302) for repair of Pier K-8 at the Fleet Industrial Supply Center, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The work to be performed provides for removal work, concrete rehabilitation of existing curbs, beams, slabs, piles and incidental related work. The work includes structural retrofit of the pier to install concrete bearing piles; concrete fender piles, plastic lumber chocks, blockings and accessories; floating pneumatic fenders; stainless steel ladders, steel brackets and fiberglass structural platform; permanent oil spill containment system; and other miscellaneous work. Work will be performed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and is expected to be completed by April 2008. Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Hawaii, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, is the contracting activity.

Maintenance Dredging, Norfolk Harbor Channel (Sewells Point to Lamberts Bend), Hampton Roads, Virginia. The project consists of maintenance dredging to depths of 51 and 52 feet with one foot of allowable overdepth at each respective depth. Awarded to Norfolk Dredging Company for $2,668,024, line items 0001 and 0002, on November 16, 2006, by the Norfolk District, Corps of Engineers. W91236-07-C-0013 / W91236-06-B-0010

Overhaul the Dredge McFarland. Includes dry-docking, utilities and services; hull painting, cleaning and gas-freeing of fuel and oil storage tanks; tailshafts and bearing replacements, overhauling the dredge pump switchboard, hopper door operating mechanism repairs, engine overhaul, controllable pitch propulsion system repairs, bow thruster repairs, trunnion hull pad repairs, Lufkin reduction gear repairs, rudder bearing replacement, sea valve inspections, dredge pump shaft and liner replacement, and anchor chain removal and inspection. A drydock examination and inspection for renewal of the U.S. Coast Guard Certificate of Inspection will also be performed during this repair period. Upon completion of the work, the vessel will conduct dock and sea trials prior to delivery back to the government. The contractor must be capable of entering into a Master Ship Agreement and have the required dry-docking capabilities for the vessel.
