IRPT Meeting to be Held Next Week
The Inland Rivers, Ports and Terminals (IRPT) annual conference will take place in Kansas City, Missouri April 9, 10 and 11th, and includes education courses that will earn personal development hours (PDH’s) for professional engineers. A total of five points are possible for the entire conference.
The venue is the Fairmont Kansas City Hotel.
IRPT president Rick Cuningham urges attendees to arrive in time for the opening luncheon speaker at 11:15 on Wednesday, April 9. Henry Hungerbeeler, director of the Missouri Department of Transportation, will speak on “Port Security in the State of Missouri.”
Wednesday’s sessions focus on security, operations and finance, and Thursday’s focus is on marketing. Col. Donald R. Curtis, Corps of Engineers Kansas City District Engineer, who speak on “Missouri River Mitigation” at the Thursday luncheon.
Cunningham announced that the 2004 conference will be in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
