CARIS 2003 Call For Papers Issued
CARIS will hold its annual user’s conference in St. Louis, Missouri, November 18 through 21 at the Adams Mark Hotel.
Conference organizers are seeking papers that address day-to-day applications of CARIS software across its land, marine and software development user communities.
The conference theme, “Gateways in Geomatics,” reflects the results of recent advances in geospatial technology. Internet-mapping, data services, geoportals, and database technologies are opening doors for improved data quality, data sharing, facilitating the introduction of geomatics to new audiences and turning data into information -- creating gateways in geomatics.
CARIS 2003 will have the following sessions, and authors are requested to send their abstracts, keeping in view the themes and sessions mentioned:
Issue-oriented sessions: Gateways in Geomatics, National Spatial Data Infrastructures, Geoportals.
Application-oriented sessions: Defense, Military and Intelligence, Development and Systems Integration, Inland/River Electronic Navigational Charting, Land Management: Local Government, Homeland Security, Mapping/Cartography, Marine and Hydrography, Natural Resources, Ports and Harbors Management, Public Safety.
Presentations should focus on challenges, case studies and application solutions. Abstracts are reviewed on the basis of originality, quality, scope and relevance to CARIS users. Speakers will be notified of the abstract's status by August 29, 3003.
