20032005 Benicia Marina Maintenance Dredging

Bids due 10 a.m., March 26, 2003.

The City of Benicia, California, has made available the Notice Inviting Bids, contact documents, plans, and specifications for maintenance dredging of the Benicia Marina.

Scope of Work: Provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and incidentals required to dredge up to 51,200 (including bid alternate) cubic yards of sediment from the Benicia Marina and dispose of the dredged material at an authorized disposal site in the Carquinez Strait, in accordance with permit conditions and requirements. Dredging will begin August 1, 2003. Work included in the base bid must be completed no later than September 14 of each contract year.

The contractor is required to provide two fully operational scows exclusively for the project. The term of the contract is three years, subject to annual submission and approval of insurance and bonds and budget appropriation by the Benicia City Council.

The general contractor for the project must have a Class A license issued by the State of California.

Contract Documents: Copies of the contract document (including the Notice Inviting Bids), specifications, and drawings may be obtained at the office of the City Engineer, City Hall, 250 East L Street, Benicia, California, 94510; phone 707-746-4240; fax 707-747-1637, upon payment of US$35 per set, non-refundable. A charge of US$10 will be added to the cost of the document sets for postage and handling for mailing.

Receipt of Bids and Bid Opening: Sealed bids will be received at the office of the City Engineer, Public Works Department, City Hall, 250 East L Street, Benicia, California 94510, until 10:00 a.m., March 26, 2003. The bids will be publicly opened and read shortly thereafter in the Commission Room at the City of Benicia, 250 East L Street, Benicia, California.
