Dredging Contract News. City of Benicia to Dredge Marina

The City of Benicia Public Works Department is planning a procurement to perform maintenance dredging of the Benicia Marina. The work entails dredging of the entire marina to restore the harbor basin to its authorized dimensions. The dredging work is scheduled for this summer.

The berth and slip areas will be dredged to a depth of -6 MLLW, the inner channel and turning basin to a depth of -8 MLLW, and the outer (or entrance) channel to a depth of -10 MLLW. Approximately 80,000 cubic yards of material will be dredged and disposed of at the authorized disposal site located on the Carquinez Strait near Mare Island, Vallejo, California (approximately five miles from the marina).

Dredging contractors interested in receiving a complementary copy of the Notice Inviting Bids, which includes the contract specifications, should respond to or by fax at (707) 747-1637 no later than March 30, 2001.
