Coastal Disasters Conference Set for April
The conference applies to coastal planners, managers, social scientists, engineers, geologists, economists, oceanographers, property owners, meteorologists, elected officials, and others interested in the coasts. Attendees and presenters will share lessons learned since the inaugural 2002 conference, as well as creative new solutions to coastal disasters.
Presentations will encompass the data gleaned from the study of coastal disasters, as well as highlighting the tools used to collect such data, possible engineering solutions and policy-oriented management efforts to minimize the impact of coastal disasters.
Conference topics will focus on science, tools, management challenged and solutions to a range of coastal hazards including: coastal erosion, hurricanes, coastal storms, seismic events and tsunamis, climate change, sea level change and wind.
