Important Dredging Conferences Announced
The WESTERN DREDGING ASSOCIATION (WEDA) PACIFIC CHAPTER plans a three-day technical conference in San Diego, Wednesday, November 7 through Friday, November 9. The theme will be port expansion and ship channel deepening projects, impacts of endangered species on the dredging industry, and new developments in marine construction. On Wednesday afternoon the Corps of Engineers Northwestern and South Pacific Divisions will present their dredging programs, and Thursday and Friday will be devoted to technical papers and panel discussions.

The NORTH AMERICAN LAKE MANAGEMENT SOCIETY (NALMS) will meet November 6 through 9 at the Monona Terrace Community &Convention Center, Madison, Wisconsin. The WEDA MEXICO CHAPTER will hold a meeting in conjunction with the 3rd International Congress of Ports and Coasts in Veracurz, Mexico, October 11 and 12. The congress is sponsored by the Mexican Association of Port, Maritime and Coastal engineering (AMIP). The venue is the convention center of the Continental Plaza Hotel in Veracruz City, and will include an exposition area for maritime, coastal and port services and products. Don’t miss CEDA (Central Dredging Association) DREDGING DAY in Amsterdam on November 15.
