Dredges are Working in Southwest Pass

Sean Duffy of the Big River Coalition reports that the following dredges are now working in the Lower Mississippi River: Corps hopper Dredge Wheeler, working on assignment at the Head of Passes, beginning on January 18, 2012 (Yellow Flag Process begun); Dutra's Stuyvesant, working on assignment at Mile 13-15 Below Head of Passes (BHP)beginning on January 22, 2012 and expected to complete contract in early May; Manson's hopper dredge Newport, working on assignment at Mile 3 Above Head of Passes (Cubits Gap) beginning on February 13, 2012 and expected to complete the contract in September; and the cutterhead dredge Marion, expected to begin dredging at Mile 11 BHP on or about February 25, 2012.
