IDIQ Contract for Rental of 24 Cutterhead Pipeline Dredge for Dredging in Alabama Mississippi and Florida (Bid Schedule 1). Dredging at various locations within the Mobile District including deep draft projects shallow draft projects inland waterways and the Intracoastal waterway as well as coastal restoration projects beach nourishment projects and any other project requiring the use of a dredge in Alabama Mississippi and Florida. The scope also includes supplying dredge-related supplies and equipment such as tugs barges cranes geotextile tubes sheetpile land based heavy equipment for disposal operations and other marine equipment associated with channels and coastal restoration projects. The intent of the original solicitation is to award two separate contracts for different size dredges. Bid schedule #1 is for a 24-inch discharge diameter cutterhead pipeline dredge that is capable of working in exposed marine environments in the Mississippi Sound and at various inlets along the Gulf Coast that are exposed to rough sea conditions. Bid schedule #2 is for a cutterhead pipeline dredge with a discharge diameter that is between 16 and 24 inches that is capable of working in small shallow draft projects in various locations. W912DS-090C-0003 / W912DS-09-B-0001 The project consists of deepening of the existing 47 feet (MLW) federal navigation channel system to a depth of 52 feet (plus 1.5) (MLW) along the west side of Newark Bay. It includes drilling blasting dredging and placement of rock and non-rock material and sampling and testing subsurface materials if needed. The non-rock materials unsuitable for the HARS placement will be placed at an upland placement facility. The procurement involves the use of a clamshell dredge with an environmental bucket an excavator dredge and possibly a drill blast barge. These dredges must be able to operate in a minimum of 52 feet of water.
