Vaughn Joins NovAtel
Dave Vaughn will join NovAtel Inc. (NASDAQ: NGPS) as president and chief executive officer on February 26, 2001.
“We are delighted to have someone with Dave’s skills and extensive experience in the GPS industry join NovAtel,” said Jim Close, company chairman. “Dave has a proven record and has repeatedly demonstrated his ability to succeed with companies such as ours,” he said.
Vaughn was formerly senior vice president and chief operations officer at Magellan Corporation, and has held several senior management positions at Trimble Navigation Limited, including executive vice president, corporate business development. His appointment with NovAtel is initially under a six-month contract.
Close thanked Werner Gartner, NovAtel’s chief financial officer, for filling in as acting president and CEO in the past few months. Gartner will resume his regular financial responsibilities when Vaughn joins the company.
NovAtel, headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, develops and manufactures global positioning equipment and systems for surveying, geographic information systems, aviation, marine, mining, machine control and agriculture.
