Timothy A. Hooks Dies

Timothy Alan Hooks, 59, died on Sunday, January 14, in a Houston hospital.

Mr. Hooks was president of Mike Hooks, Inc., dredging contractor in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He was a member of the Association of General Contractors, the World Dredging Association, the Gulf Coast Chapter of the Western Dredging Association and the Society of American Military Engineers. He was named contractor of the year for the Army Corps of Engineers South Atlantic Division.

A 1959 graduate of Lake Charles High School, Mr. Hooks was an alumnus of Louisiana State University. He was a member of the National Hot Rod Association, Ducks Unlimited, the Louisiana Quarter Horse Association and the American Quarter Horse Association and Lambda Chi Alpha. He was a past member of the Delta Downs Recetrack board of directors and a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Funeral services were held on January 16 in Hixson Funeral Home and burial in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery, Sulphur, Louisiana.

Mr. Hooks is survived by his wife Patsy Neathery Hooks of Sulphur, one daughter, Ronnie Hooks Bodin of Baton Rouge, one son, Tim Hooks Jr. of Sulphur, two sisters, Linda Hooks Robichaux of Lake Charles and Kim Hooks McMahon of Sulphur; and his mother, Lorraine Guillory Hooks of Lake Charles.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
