DACW66-01-B-0002. Bid opening March 13, 2001, 2:30 p.m. LEASE OF ONE CUTTERHEAD HYDRAULIC PIPELINE DREDGE FOR USE ON WHITE RIVER, ARKANSAS. The dredge should be not less than 18 inch pump discharge and not less than 1,200 brake horsepower and necessary snagging equipment. The dredge and snagging equipment will be used to make or enlarge dredge cuts, remove snags, construct fills, and otherwise maintain the navigation channel between Mile 9.8 and Mile 260 on the White River. The contractor shall also provide a survey boat and perform before and after dredging hydrographic surveys at each dredging location to document dredge production. It is expected that work will begin on or about June 1, 2001. The contract will include a base year and one option year. Cost stimate, $1 million to $5 million. 100 percent small business setaside. DACW29-01-T-0048. PLACEMENT OF 36-INCH-DIAMETER ROUND PIPE CULVERT IN MORGAN CITY, LOUISIANA. The work consists of placing a 36-inch-diameter, -inch wall thickness round pipe culvert under Louisiana Highway 70 in Morgan City, Louisiana in the vicinity of Lake Palourde. The culvert will be composed of steel or smooth-wall pipe. One flared end section shall be fitted on the south end of the culvert (Lake End Park side). The culvert will be installed via the "jack-and-bore" method to avoid road closures or damage to the existing pavement during the contract. The total length of the culvert will be between 60 and 70 feet, not including the end section. Some excavation will be required to deepen the drainage ditch on the north side of the road (Atchafalaya Basin Levee side) to the elevation of the bottom of the culvert. Soil removed as a result of the jack-and-bore operations and excavation shall be removed from the work site by the contractor. The contractor will also provide as-built drawings (site map, plan view, and cross-section) upon completion. A section of six-foot-high chain-link fence around the Lake View Park property will require removal by the contractor in order to perform the jack-and-bore. The fence will be restored to its original condition upon completion of the contract. The contract work is required to be completed within 30 calendar days after contract award, since the culvert will be used by another contractor to lay dredge discharge pipeline under the road during upcoming dredging operations scheduled to begin on that date.
