Future Pipe Introduces Stronger Floats
Future Pipe Industries, formerly known as Wavin Repox, has introduced Wavifloat MK2, a stronger version of their floating pipe system for dredging. This version was developed to meet the more stringent requirements of cutter and hopper dredges with large-diameter pipes.
The new float was tested on a large-diameter floating pipeline with repeated collisions by a workboat, which did not damage the floats. With a buoyancy of 950 kg/cbm, Wavifloat is made in one piece, so there is no risk of losing parts. Available in various diameters and lengths, the float can be quickly installed and is easy to transport. Once mounted, floating pipelines may be towed to the site, and allow for considerably less downtime in poor weather.
The MK2 is supplied in bright orange with yellow lines for visibility. The floats are made of 100 percent corrosion-free materials.
