Description: River Administration of the Lower Danube was founded according to "Convention of navigable conditions on Danube" provisions, concluded in 1948 in Belgrad. River Administration of the Lower Danube is organized like an autonomous administration under Ministry of Public Works, Transports and House. Main duties of River Administration of the Lower Danube are to ensure the navigable conditions on Danube by means of dredging works, topohydrographic survey, coastal and floating signaling, piloting on Maritime Danube sections and in Danube Maritime Ports, special transports on Maritime and River Danube, internal and international towage, etc. River Administration of the Lower Danube headquarter is in Galatzi and the branch offices are: Drobeta Turnu Severin, Giurgiu, Calarasi, Braila, Tulcea and Sulina.
