Additional Information

Description: The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) is a government-owned corporation attached to the Department of Transportation and Communications for policy and program coordination. The port dredging services have been privatized under a joint venture agreement. By virtue of its charter, the PPA is mandated to establish, develop, regulate, manage and operate a rationalized national port system in support of trade and national development. PPA has five port district offices (PDO's) for the geographic zones of Manila/Northern Luzon, Southern Luzon, Visayas, Northern Mindanao and Southern Mindanao. The PDO's directly manage and supervise the operation of 22 port management offices (PMO's) or base/hub ports, which in turn manage and supervise the terminal or satellite ports situated all over the country.
