PANOLIN OFFERS NEW STERN TUBE LUBRICATING OPTIONS

To complement its Stella Maris environmentally acceptable stern tube lubricant, Panolin introduced Stella Maris NRT for older vessels. The company’s stern tube lubricant is based on its 100 percent saturated synthetic ester technology, which it says has proven to be the most robust and technically advanced lubrication option. In the design of the lubricant, Panolin said it considered lubrication needs, water ingress, contamination/cleanliness, heat and equipment compatibility. Panolin’s NRT is more compatible with older seals or more traditional seal materials, Jared Mikacich, sales and marketing manager at Panolin, said. Fluid compatability with seals will prevent them from swelling, shrinking or drying out. In most applications, when using Stella Maris, the seals should be replaced with newer bio-seals.
