SEATOOLS INTRODUCES PILE DREDGE TOOL

Seatools launches its latest product, Pile Dredge Tool (PDT), which the company said combines Seatools’ key strengths of subsea equipment development and dredging expertise. This pile cleaning and dredging tool is capable of removing soil plugs and cleaning of pre-piled jackets. The system can be used for all kinds of other pile excavation operations as well, such as for the preparation of piles prior to abandon-ment operations.

PARTRAC CONTRACTED FOR MONITORING SERVICES AT UK MARINE PARK

Partrac announced the award of a marine monitoring support services contract for the ABLE Marine Energy Park (AMEP). AMEP is a fully consented infrastructure project in the Humber estuary in the United Kingdom. It was designed to offer port facilities for the renewable energy sector, particularly offshore wind. The contract includes the supply, deployment and maintenance of monitoring equipment, and the delivery of water quality data through baseline, construction and post-construction phases of the development.

TSHD CHARLOCK TAKES DELIVERY OF DAMEN PUMPS

Damen supplied two dredge pumps for the 3,200-cubic-meter (about 2,447-cubic-yard) trailing suction hopper dredge Charlock. One semi-axial dredge pump is fitted on the trailing pipe, and the other pump is mounted inboard. Damen said both dredge pumps work in series, enabling a more efficient dredging process.

DSC DELIVERS DREDGE TO PORTLAND MARINA

Rose City Yacht Club in Portland, Oregon, took delivery and startup of a new eight-inch Badger Class dredge from DSC Dredge, LLC, based in Reserve, Louisiana. The Badger dredge was a much-needed replacement for an older dredge the club had purchased and had operated for more than 20 years, doing their own dredging at the marina.

REDMETERS LAUNCHES NEW DENSITY GAUGE

REDmeters based in Orlando, Florida, intro-duced a density gauge to measure the density of a slurry in a pipeline, ranging from two inches to 42 inches inner diameter. The measurements and calculations run in real-time, 33 times per second, and the gauage measures the full con-tents of the pipe, not a sample. In addition to measuring slurry density, the system can report percent solids or specific gravity, or total mass, if inline with a flow meter.

Using photovoltaic energy, Kiasma Srl has created a solar power application for HDPE pipes for the discharge lines on dredging projects. The photovoltaic panels are flexible, lightweight and highly efficient. They are resistant to impact damge and mechanical stress and weathering. The panels are ISO9001 certified for quality, ISO 18001 for safety and ISOL 14000 for the environment. The connectors and cables are designed to work in seawater conditions and in the presence of waves.
