Teledyne Oceanscience and Teledyne Odom Demonstrate Z-Boat Integration at U.S. Hydro 2015

An integration with the Teledyne Oceanscience Z-Boat and the Teledyne Odom Hydrographic MB1 multibeam system was demonstrated at the U.S. Hydro 2015 from March 16 to 19. The boat surveyed the area around the docks at the Gaylord Resort National Harbor in Maryland.

Galveston District to Update Navigation Channel Data Online

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District has finished uploading deep-draft navigation channel data on its hydrographic surveys webpage. This year, the district will begin posting the same data for shallow-draft channels its maintains along the Texas coast. The data can be found at http://www.swg.usace.army.mil/Missions/Navigation.aspx.

Corps Surveys Texas Coast with LiDAR Technology

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District began implementing mobile Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) survey data technology along the Texas coast in November. The software will survey dredging placement areas, assist with hydrographic surveys and collect data that will help analyze beach erosion.

Teledyne BlueView Releases 2D Sonar and Software

Teledyne BlueView released the M900-D, rated to 4,000 meters (about 13,000 feet) of depth. The M900-D system is housed in a thickwalled air-filled aluminum housing. The compact MSeries sonar line includes BlueView’s third generation electronics package, which is smaller, lower power and produces improved imagery over the previous models by applying techniques, such as automatic transmit power adjustment.

EIVA Launches ROTV Solution

EIVA designed its new wide-sweep ROTV (remotely operated towed vehicle) ScanFish Katria, for detecting sub-bottom magnetic anomalies. The platform allows for time-efficient magnetometer surveys, as it covers larger survey areas in one sweep through a horizontal setup of four magnetometers. By means of the terrain-following operation mode, the magnetometers are positions as close to the seabed as the topography allows.
