VAN OORD SURVEY VESSEL INSTALLS BLINDS

Sola-Cure the U.K. based antiglare window blind supplier has recently installed blinds on the 16.5-meter (54-feet) survey vessel Porth Dinllaen owned by Holyhead-based company Turbine Transfers Ltd. and is currently under charter to Van Oord as part of the Liverpool2 deepwater container terminal project on the west coast of England.

Sola-Cure installed blinds in the wheelhouse as an aid to navigation. Blinds were fitted to all forward overhead port and starboard windows. Then Van Oord’s surveyors in the main crew deck requested a similar set up for the port side windows where a number of monitors are located. In addition to improved visibility of the monitors the blinds will reduce the temperature on-board in the summer months and create a more comfortable working environment for the crew. Sola-Cure has partnerships outside of the U.K. with Technology Ventures based in the UAE and in the U.S. with Massachusetts-based IMTRA Corporation.
