Trimble Releases MPS865 Global Navigation Satellite System

Trimble has introduced the new MPS865 (Marine Positioning System) multi-frequency and multi-application Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). Used for real-time and post-processing applications for marine survey and construction, the unit features integrated communications options, and can be integrated as an on-board rover receiver, a base station or a continuously operating reference station. The MPS865 multi constellations, cellular connectivity and beacon support allow it to work well in congested marine construction sites. The multi-constellation option is for use when antennas or satellites are partly obstructed. Coupling with the GA830 antennas allows the MPS865 to receive free-to-air beacon signals to deliver sub-meter accuracy horizontal positioning.

Using cellular inside the marine receiver makes it easier to use Internet Base Station Service and VRS corrections over the internet, and to communicate with the receiver via the internet and SMS messages. The receiver can be used on a vessel as a data access-point to download design files or for immediate remote support.

The MPS865 has an internal removable battery, internal memory and optional accessory kits. The receiver is compatible with a variety of software solutions and comes in a weatherproof, high-impact resistant molded aluminum housing. The system is available through the Trimble Marine global dealer network.
